Influenza A
It is pertainent at this time that all families are aware of the symptoms of Influenza A and follow instructions issued by the Ministry of Health and your place of work.

As many dancers have been competing overseas care should be taken around a suspected case or close contact:

Defined as a person with an influenza like illness (fever >38 °C plus cough or sore throat) who has developed symptoms within 4 days of returning from overseas travel

Close contact is defined as having cared for, lived with, or had direct contact with respiratory secretions or bodily fluids of a probable or confirmed case

Ministry of Health website:
http://www.moh.govt.nz/moh.nsf

AIDA is responsible for providing a safe envorinment for competitors therefore teachers may suggest dancers showing flu like symptoms do not attend the upcoming Auckland Regionals.

Please see your teacher if you have any questions.
